Illinois CLE Requirements

Total Credits: 30 credit hours every two years
- At least 6 credits in Professional Responsibility
- At least 1 credit in Diversity and Inclusion
- At least 1 credit in Mental Health and Substance Abuse
CLE Deadline: June 30 of the second year of the attorney’s reporting cycle.
Reporting Groups:
- A-M: Reporting cycle runs from July 1 of an even-numbered year through June 30 of the following even-numbered year.
- N-Z: Reporting cycle runs from July 1 of an odd-numbered year through June 30 of the following odd-numbered year.
Carryover Credit: Illinois attorneys may carry over up to 10 credits into the next reporting period, including Professional Responsibility credits.
Reporting: Lawline reports Illinois attendance weekly on Tuesdays. Confirm that your ARDC number is correct and allow up to five business days for credits to be processed by the Illinois MCLE Board.
